Pauline Rose

Pauline has been a member of ACOP since 1995.

Pauline learned paper tole from "a fellow in Newport" and has been doing it for 20 years. She particularly likes making animals, fish, flowers, and beautiful scenes, and frames them herself.

She loves the depth, and gloss of her paper tole art.

Pauline also knits and loves making character dolls. She adapts the basic doll patterns to give them special charm and individuality. Customers particularly like the nurse, while Pauline's favourites are the large clown dolls and the drummer boy.

At the St Ives Show, Pauline has won ribbons both for her knitted dolls, and for her children's pictures, and fish pictures.

Pauline started as a hairdresser, which she credits with accentuating her sense of design.

Pauline is versatile, and will attack anything "with gusto".
