Svetlana is currently working as a freelance illustrator and designer in conjunction with her art practice.

She graduated from the Department of Painting, Kyiv State T.G. Shevchennco Art College in 1981. In the years following Art College, she worked as a freelance illustrator for ‘Veselka’ Publishing House and The State Musical Theatre for Children. Svetlana held Solo exhibitions and was involved in numerous Group exhibitons in the Ukraine and Australia.

In 1988 she became one of the youngest artists in the Ukranian National Art Union.

Paintings by Svetlana Soldatova are on display in Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Kyiv and in numbers of private collections in Europe,  United States and Australia.
